We are back in business.
But we do have a new rule at our house:

What Crew did today

He played superman!!

Carson built a fort for the two of them. They played in there for awhile.

He read a book about mulies. (I swear....it's not fair!! I am so out numbered!)

He got in the freezer tons today to get some chocolate chips.

He also lost Brian's keys to his truck & bent the key to my car so when I went to go get Tanner from school it wouldn't go all the way in! I am so annoyed! NO more letting him play with the keys. Thanks to Leslie for saving me today & getting Tanner from school.

He didn't eat dinner. I think he is teething.

2nd grade

Tanner's first day of 2nd grade. He was so nervous last night. He came to my room crying about 30 minutes after I put him to bed. I had to calm him down & give him a run down of what was going to happen. He felt better to know that I was going to walk him to his line & stay there until the bell rang. He was fine this morning when we got there. I think he is going to have a good time this year & really like his teacher.

Went to the water park today with Jen & the kids. I was trying to be a fun mom today. One last time before school starts. Can someone tell me why the henderson water parks don't allow you to take pictures?

Tanner has been asking for Subway all week. For lunch & dinner. It didn't matter. He was craving it. I kept telling him "NO". Well I gave in and we had subway for dinner tonight. It was good.

We are going to be watching Nim's Island. It looks good. And the boys choice in movie candy is: red hots, milk duds and sour skittles.

I need to buy a new lunch box for Tanner before school starts.

I also want to take advantage of Old Navy $7 kids jeans for sale tomorrow! I wasn't going to buy new pants till it got cold. Actually all Tanner's clothes still fit him. So I am getting away with only buying him a couple things for 2nd grade & then we will do new clothes shopping when the weather gets colder.

His new thing

This has been Crew's new thing lately. He rides his bike around the house, but he has to have his sunglasses on and one of our real car keys. That part drives me crazy because I have to watch him & make sure he does not lose them. But isn't he so cute?

Celebrating our anniversary

Brian & I went to Mt. Charleston this weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed in one of the cabins by the lodge. We have never been away by ourselves without the boys. I have to say that it was very nice. The best was not to have to worry about the boys. Thanks to grandpas & grandmas who helped us with them!
Here is the cabin that we stayed in.

This was our view from the back patio. The weather was so nice. We went on a couple of hikes. One was a hike that Brian just decided to take me on in search of a lake. We never found it. I was being grumpy & told him I didn't want to go any further. I was tired. We weren't hiking.....we were mountain climbing. I didn't have the right shoes. I was just negative.
Then the next day we went on the mary jane falls trail. It was really nice when we got to the end. We were so high!!

I asked someone to take this picture of us. I thought it was funny because Brian didn't think that his water bottle was going to be in the picture.

5 wishes

1. I wish this dude could communicate with me in other ways. All day he grunts, pulls me, points and grunts some more. I forgot what this stage was like. And I forgot how frustrating it is!!!

2. I wish that Tanner was in school. He is so hyper & wild. He needs something to do!!

3. I wish that we had an unlimited supply of money.

4. I wish that Brian would get a phone call soon about an interview he had last week. We are just waiting. And thinking positive!

5. I wish that I could go grocery shopping by myself. It would be so much easier.

Dental floss

The boys love tape. They waste so much of it. I never have any in the house. I have opted for gift bags for wrapping gifts. I don't even buy it anymore because it always goes to waste. Well they have a new love......dental floss. They tie everything together. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, trailers, & stuffed animals. What will they think of next to waste????

Last day of 1st grade

Yesterday I had to go to the school for 1st grade award ceremony. The paper that came home said that Tanner would be getting an award for 1 absence. Honestly, I really did not want to go. I told Brian that I thought that is kind of stupid to give someone for an award for missing one day of school. I understand if you get 100% attendance. So of course I went but forgot my camera. Tanner was also awarded for most academic improvement, P.E. & art award. I felt like such a bad mom that I was being such a jerk about not wanting to go & that I am actually even admitting it & also that I forgot my camera. What kind of mom doesn't bring her camera to an award ceremony???? So here is a picture of Tanner with his teacher on the last day of 1st grade.

Swimming lessons

The boys have been taking swimming lessons. Tanner has learned the freestyle, back stroke, & breast stroke. Carson is still trying to get down the freestyle. There are so many things to remember & he also gets very distracted. But overall they both are doing really good.

I didn't take any pictures of Carson in the water because I didn't realize I had my camera with me. So here he is asking me to take his picture too!

Trip to New Mexico

Jen, Brit, Susie, & I went on a long road trip to New Mexico to visit Jen's grandma. We left early Friday morning and were home on Tuesday night. A couple of the days we went to Durango, Colorado. We did a little window shopping. (everything was so expensive!) We went white water rafting. I think this was my favorite part. It wasn't too wild......but I think I did get the most wet. I ended up losing my paddle. Those pictures will come later. (hint hint Brit!!!)
Then we visited a spa with 18 hot spring pools. It was right by the river too. It was so pretty & relaxing. We visited the family, ate lots of yummy food, did a little more shopping & just hung out & did more visiting. Thanks girls for another great time!
